Tale Weaver 14.10.21 – Only When I Sleep

Woman sleeping at home in her bed

Hello there,

Sorry for the late post; it’s been one of those days.

My youngest kept me awake from 1am to 3:30am last night and then my eldest was supposed to have his post-cast removal appointment at 11:50am. We ended up seeing the doctor at 2:50pm. Then we had to go get a splint because the bone isn’t entirely set. And of course I had to run to 3 different pharmacies to find one. By which time I had to go and pick up the youngest from day care. I was not a happy camper. And I am exhausted. I could go to bed just now. But my husband won’t be home from work before 8pm. So no luck; at least they’re playing by themselves for now. Probably won’t last too long 😂😂

Sleep… a precious commodity. Or something that’s just needed to function? Tell me a tale of sleep please. A beauty sleep? A person stuck not being able to sleep… Or on the other hand, a Sleeping Beauty kind of curse?

Tell me a story where sleep occupies a central position, by its presence or absence. Or maybe your relation to sleep why not?

I read quite often that the most successful people in the world sleep less than 6 hours a day. Every time I see that, I think well they don’t have to take care of kids (or cats, or dogs for that matter) because yeah well it’s hard to be productive when your sleep has been interrupted numerous times. My brain didn’t really jumpstart at all today. I would have been incapable of being productive; which didn’t mean I enjoyed being stuck at the hospital for 4 hours instead of the scheduled 1hour. LOL.

So yes, sleep…

  1. I must insist that everyone start using Blogger. WordPress sucks. Half the time it won’t let me comment. I wrote something using this prompt at poetryofthenetherworld dot blogspot dot com
