Blue Moon

Dear friends of MLMM,

Welcome to a new episode of Heeding Haiku With … This week an exclusive phenomenon will occur … a second full moon or a so called “blue moon”, but that’s not all that is happening today. There will also be a total eclipse of the moon and the moon will look huge, because she is close to earth. They (scientists) call it a “trifecta”, because these three things are very rare to occur together.

So this wonderful event is your theme for this week. I challenge you to create a haibun or haiku themed “blue moon” based on this “trifecta”. There are no rules to follow this week. Just enjoy creating this week’s haibun or haiku.

Blue Moon (haibun):

I was wandering through my neighborhood when I saw just a circle of light at the night sky, but several minutes later the clouds moved away from the full moon and then I could see the Blue Moon. It was a mysterious and magical moment which I will cherish like a treasure. Ah! What a richness! I have seen the Blue Moon.

This haibun I wrote inspired on this “blue moon” event.

Have fun!
