Music Prompt #30: “Land of Confusion” by Genesis

I keep a list of songs that I use for the prompt. Last week whilst looking for a Valentine-appropriate song, I found this beaut. I know what you’re thinking: “It’s a hella strange,” and “This isn’t the Muppet Show!” I hear ya. I am not afraid to state the the lyrics may not inspire poetry.

But here’s the thing: I was very inspired by the style of the video. It reminds me of “Take On Me” and “Video Killed the Radio Star.” A time long past when sex wasn’t always the selling point. When it was OK to make a video that made little sense to the viewers.

This week, I throw down a gauntlet of sorts: Create art. Bad, stinky art. A doodle. Collage. A work in progress. Go wild, meter-less. Ignore the lyrics if needed 😀 I’ll join in too.

To make it a place worth living in.
