Importance of Loyalty

Most people will not like it if their significant other cheats on them, or if somebody betrays them, or is disloyal, or is treacherous.  People who make commitments should honor them, so if you take someone for better or worse and say that you will stay with them till death makes you part, then you should keep your word.  Loyalty is a virtue, and it can be one of the most important qualities to have in a companion.  You can always hope for the good times, but you should always be prepared for the bad, so that you can stand beside your companion through the thick and the thin.  Loyalty is a critically important ingredient and without this type of dedication respect and trust will never flourish.  Loyalty can be given as an allegiance to a government, institution, religion, cause, product, or a person, but this is something that can’t be bought, and it can only be given when it is deserved.

Loyalty should be related to honesty and trust, but plenty of people remain loyal to Trump out of fear that he will harm their political careers.  This is misplaced or misguided loyalty as you are being loyal to someone who does not deserve it.  If you are being mistreated, that should be a wakeup call for you to end your loyalty to that person.  There is an old phrase that says, “Once a cheater, always a cheater” and this relates to infidelity being incredibly painful and happening more that you would think.  Cheating is never an excusable offense, and there are serial cheaters out there and many of these people are not capable of changing.  Deception is done by choice and these serial cheaters don’t think that this is a big of a deal, no matter how much emotional harm they inflict on their partners.  It is thought that people who have cheated in a previous relationship are very likely to cheat in a subsequent relationship.  A person who has a history of prior infidelities is probably going to triple the chance of them cheating on their current partner.

If you find out that your partner is cheating on you, then you should confront them with the evidence that you have found and tell them what you know.  You may need to consider this other old phrase that says, “Once bitten, twice shy”, because everyone must learn from their mistakes so they can protect themselves.  You can’t jump into a relationship and willingly give away your heart, because if you don’t proceed with caution, it will likely get broken.  A person should do a lot more than buy you dinner and bring you flowers, before you give your love to them.  Respond to this Friday Faithfuls challenge by writing your thoughts about loyalty.  You can write about a past lover that you caught cheating whether or not this is a real story, or a fiction, or a mixture of both.  You could also write about selecting the perfect partner and being with somebody who always has your back.  If you have a clue about why Trump’s base stays loyal to him, you could write about that.

Loyalty is an important trait to have in any in relationships, be it romantic, friendship, business, or otherwise. Loyalty will help you to feel more secure about your partner, and it will also lead to better communication and a deeper bond between you. Loyalty sets the base and foundation for every human-to-human interaction. Both people in a relationship need to show and prove their loyalty individually and collectively. A genuine relationship is built with loving deeds, and it is not created by words.
