Mindlovemisery's Menagerie

A dose of fetish. Good friends. An incomparable muse.

It is First Line Friday! Welcome and let’s get writing.

Below, I give you the first line, and you all get to write the rest. This prompt alternates with Jim’s Music Prompts, so make sure to check back next Friday for some musical inspiration.

I’ll provide the first line, you get to write whatever comes afterward. Length, genre, and structure are completely up to you. Feel free to modify the line as you see fit, adding punctuation, quotes, or other bits if so desired. No need to tie it to the picture, unless you want to.

Or for more of a challenge, change nothing. You have a week to write it, enjoy!

Include the first line of course! Tag it Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie, First Line Fridays, and short fiction. Create a link (ping-back) to this post!

Your line for this week is:

“I summon you, the beasts of war!”

About Dylan Hughes

Always short fiction, two times a week.

here’s my I summon You the beasts of war, let loose the dogs of war!

    Sitting in his laird
    In Hell Central
    Was pleased.

    He called forth his generals

    “I am summoning you
    The beasts of war
I am unleashing the dogs of war.”

“Let Lose the Dogs of War”
    Commences now.

    Soon millions of people
    Were fighting endless civil wars
    Another insurrection here and there
    Gun battles in the streets.

    Fighting words on TV
    Inflaming tensions
    Everyone retreating
    To their political/ethnic/religious tribes
Convinced God was on their side.

General Corona was doing a great job
    With the coronavirus
Designed in hell’s biological weapons labs.

    Then seeded among wild bats
    Released in the wild
    To great results.

    Satan was happy
He looked at the dogs of war
    They were pleased
    To do their master’s bidding.

    Millions perhaps billions
Of souls will be harvested soon,

    Satan knew most of them
    Were headed his way.

    The dogs of war
    Once unleashed
    Are hard to restrain.

    The dogs howl
    At the blood-red moon.

    Satan laughs
    Thinking of all the havoc
    Yet to come.
