Mindlovemisery's Menagerie

A dose of fetish. Good friends. An incomparable muse.

Saturday Spotlight – July 10, 2021

Welcome again to Saturday Spotlight, where I choose what I consider a standout piece from my Sunday Writing Prompt.

Last week’s prompt was, “One Person’s Trash,” https://mindlovemiserysmenagerie.wordpress.com/2021/07/03/sunday-writing-prompt-july-4-21-treasured-trash/

My choice for this week focused on duality. Totally unexpected, and I loved it! It came down to perspective. Specifically, affluence vs. poverty. Which child do you think appreciated the dirty, dishevelled toys more?! I found this submission humbling, and nailed the prompt in an unexpected way.

I am pleased to say I hit the breaks the moment I read Leaking Ink’s submission, “Changing Homes”. https://leakinginkblog.wordpress.com/2017/06/02/changing-homes/

You’ve left your toys outside again.
No. I am not going to clean them for you. Would you like to go get them?
Of course they are yucky. That’s how they look if you leave them in the mud. Lord knows how many infections they carry right now. We are going to have to throw them away.
Anyway, they have become old.

Look at what mommy found for you baby. The poor things are dirty right now but nothing a good scrub won’t fix. And this dolly has hands too, and a nice blue watch. Fancy!
Hurry. If we get into the shelter tonight we can all have a hot water bath tomorrow.

Please take a moment and visit Leaking Ink’s original site, and give the kudos they deserve, https://leakinginkblog.wordpress.com/

Tune in tomorrow for Sunday Writing Prompt, where we delve into, The Little Things 🙂
