I want you to write a memorable diner scene (Twin Peaks comes to mind). It can be fictional or based on a real life experience. Really pay attention to the details of the diner and your cast of characters. I would like you to try and create a surreal ambiance.

Great choice — I also think of the Edward Hopper painting, “Nighthawks,” and all the takes of that iconic diner image.
