Dear friends of MLMM,
It’s Wednesday and it is time for a new episode of “Heeding Haiku With …”. A short episode this week. Recently my youngest grandson got a skateboard. I wasn’t happy as I saw that gift, because he is just 5 years and I think he is to young for a skateboard, but he wanted it so bad … so I just have to accept it.
This week’s theme to work with is … skateboard … Create a haiku or haibun (max. 150 words, including the haiku) with this theme.
Have fun!
When you have written your haiku, please TAG Heeding Haiku with Chèvrefeuille and Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie. Then add your link to the Mister Linky widget below.

a really curious idea for a haiku/haibun …. had me rather stumped, but it did afford me some rather interesting memories …. way back in the day, before skateboarding became what it is today …
I can appreciate your concern for your grandson – but then, sometimes, small children just have this knack for it, all wobbles and flex … and with all the appropriate protective gear, it should be safe enough – it’s kind of learning to ride your first two-wheeler, without training wheels, all about balance – but then, much closer to the ground …
anyhow, here’s wishing him fun and safety, and you, peace of mind –

I can fly this high
My wheels fast as an eagle
The wood carries me
Earth can no longer hold me
Just the board and me, flying
