Heeding Haiku With Chèvrefeuille, April 3rd 2019, everlasting love

Dear friends of MLMM,

Welcome at a new episode of Heeding Haiku With … This week I have chosen for a theme that isn’t common used in haiku, because that other short poetry form, Tanka, was mostly about love. However I think haiku can be used in a great way to create love poems with and for sure a haibun can be used for the love theme in a great way.

The theme for this week is “Everlasting Love”. You can choose which form you use, writing a haiku or haibun. Try to create a love-haiku or love-haibun. Your haibun may have a maximum of 250 words including the poems.

Maybe you know that renown author Paulo Coelho, author of for example the Alchemist. Paulo Coelho has written a lot of novels and in his novels love is a theme he uses very often. Here is a quote from one of his novels:

[…] “Love changes, love heals. Love is just a word until we decide that she can take possession of us. Love is just a word until someone gives meaning to it”. […] (Source: Manuscript found in Accra – Paulo Coelho)

Have fun!
