Sunday Writing Prompt – Countdown

Welcome to the Sunday Writing Prompt – the Holiday Countdown edition.

So this week, I’m asking you to countdown – consider 8? or 6. maybe 4. 5 is excellent. We’ll skip 3 and 2.Β  7 is sweet if you wish.

Okay, here’s the deal: Today is all about you – your inner child. The child you once were, but are no longer, due to adulting.

The holidays are soon here and it doesn’t matter what you do or don’t celebrate. We all were once kids. Little, innocent, sweet, sour, children. And who doesn’t want to just say (responsibly) – “chuck it all for the madness, I’m gonna indulge?”

C’mon, you know you want to —

So here you go: today, with no holds barred, no criticisms or inner voices saying “no” – you get to write a letter – to —- Santa Claus. As the child you once were, or still are, buried deep beneath all the layers of having grown up. 10-free-party-craft-printable-letter-to-santa-kids-ideas

You get to write and ask for whatever you want – as the wish you’d like to gift yourself now, adult that you are, but with the heart and spirit of that child of long ago. So close your eyes, relax, drift back in time, leaving all your cares and troubles behind, and indulge. Get in touch with that little angelically devilish you, and ask for the things that would make your heart sing.

So that’s it. No limits. No parameters. No anything but your wishes. Then tag your posts MLMM, Sunday Writing Prompt, { letters to Santa (if you want) } and link back here and with Mr. Linky. You have a week to participate, so take some time, – dream and then – prosaically, poetically write!
