Dear friends of MLMM,
As you all know Heeding Haiku With … is about haiku and haibun and it’s really a joy to create this feature for MLMM. This week I love to challenge you with the theme “journey”.
As you know haibun is renown through Basho’s “Small Road Into The Deep North” (or Oku no Hosomichi). His renown haibun is a travel journal and with that the real meaning of haibun is clear … a report of a journey ….
This week I love to ask you to create a real haibun, or travel journal, like “Oku No Hosomichi”. Your haibun may count a maximum of 250 words (including the haiku).
Here is an example of a haiku that could have been part of a “real” haibun:
the train starts rolling
screams of goodbyes resounding
under the roof

Have fun!
