Heeding Haiku With Chèvrefeuille, August 1st 2018, virtual journey

Dear friends of MLMM,

While The Netherlands are “suffering” of a heatwave I love to “talk” about virtuality as we know it nowadays through the Internet. Especially about virtual journeys. Maybe you know that I host a daily meme titled “Carpe Diem Haiku Kai” (CDHK) on Blogger (by Google). At CDHK we travel a lot along the virtual highway and we have visited several countries. For example we have done a few virtual pilgrimages and we made a journey straight through the Andian Mountains and straight through the former USSR.

Next to those virtual journeys we sometimes read a novel or a poetry book. It’s a joy to bring those journeys and it gives me a kind of satisfaction and the idea that I have seen more of the world than my own country.

This week the theme is “virtual journey”. And the task is to write a haibun (with a maximum of 300 words, including the haiku) or a haiku following the classical rules (5-7-5, seasonword, cuttingword, deeper layer, interchangeable first and third line), maybe you can try to use for example comparison or juxtaposition.

You can choose your own virtual journey you maybe made to a country far from the place were you are living.

A nice task I think.

Have fun!

When you have written your haiku, please TAG Heeding Haiku with Chèvrefeuille and Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie. Then add your link to the Mister Linky widget below.

About Chèvrefeuille

I am a Dutch haiku poet. And I am the owner and host of the weblog "Carpe Diem, a daily haiku meme" on Blogger (or Blogspot). I am writing haiku since the late eighties and in 2005 I became an international known haiku poet and in 2011 ten of my haiku were included in a worldwide anthology "Spasms of Light". With that anthology I became an even more known haiku poet. In October 2012 I started my daily haiku meme.
