Heeding Haiku With Chèvrefeuille May 9th 2018, railroad

Dear friends of MLMM,

I love traveling by train, the sound, the people … and reading without being aware of the people around me. I don’t have a drivers license so I have to use public transportation and I just love it.

Here is your task for this week … write a haiku or haibun about a journey by train or bus. Your haiku has to follow the classical rules and your haibun may have a maximum of 100 words including the haiku.

Have fun!

About Chèvrefeuille

I am a Dutch haiku poet. And I am the owner and host of the weblog "Carpe Diem, a daily haiku meme" on Blogger (or Blogspot). I am writing haiku since the late eighties and in 2005 I became an international known haiku poet and in 2011 ten of my haiku were included in a worldwide anthology "Spasms of Light". With that anthology I became an even more known haiku poet. In October 2012 I started my daily haiku meme.

One of these days I’d like to have a long rail trip with my own room and ‘loo’. But that might be awhile yet… until then I may have to settle for more of the like in this piece:

When I think of trains and the noise and motion I always think of “The Music Man” and the song sung by the riders in the train, copying the train rhythm.
