Dear friends of MLMM,
Welcome at a new episode of Heeding Haiku With … the feature in which I challenge you to create haibun or haiku on a given theme. This week I saw an awesome documentary about the Grand Canyon and that brought me the idea for this week’s Heeding Haiku With …
Create a haibun or haiku themed “into the mountains”. You can choose to create a haibun or a haiku, but there are a few rules you have to follow (if possible of course). For the haibun these are the rules:
- A Maximum of 250 words (including the haiku)
- The Haiku in your haibun have to follow the classical rules of a seasonword and the 5-7-5 syllables count.
For the haiku these are the rules:
- Follow the classical rules which are: three (3) lines, a kigo (or seasonword), 5-7-5 syllables, a kireji (or cuttingword, this can be “written” as punctuation), a Zen Buddhistic layer and a deeper meaning.
- Your haiku has to start with this first line “going into the mountains”.
Well … have fun!
When you have written your haiku, please TAG Heeding Haiku with Chèvrefeuille and Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie. Then add your link to the Mister Linky widget below.
