Dear friends of MLMM,
Welcome at a new episode of Heeding Haiku With … We are “running” towards the end of this year. Here in The Netherlands we have a period of heavy snow fall and that makes me happy, but also a bit sad, because through this weather a lot of people, elderly people, disabled people can not go out, because it’s to dangerous.
Of course that’s not were this new episode of Heeding Haiku With … is about. This week I love to challenge you to create haiku or haibun in which you have to use the classical kigo (season word) “first snow”. A few examples written by myself:
winter morning
the fragile light of the sun
reflects in the snow
a cold moonlit night
just the sound of fresh fallen snow –
wandering over the moors

Have fun!
