      LOL and smiling@hibiscus memories – they have such prominent organs …. hard to not think of them, and of course, such amazing colours 😀

        We once grew (or rather they grew themselves) very different hibiscus. Hubby would act as pollinator with qtips, waiting for that exact moment when pistil and stamen were ready. We saved the seeds, but alas, waited too long to plant. No longer viable. Have yet to find this particular type of hibiscus again. Have pictures some where.

        it’s incredible the number of varieties going on in that family – it’s mind boggling – but so cool. Wow – now that’s dedication to sit there and go to all that length and “trouble” …. because you just never know what will come of it, if anything – but it’s still cool to try.

        The hibiscus pollination is just the sort of thing hubby would do. He has the ability to focus on the minutiae among the wilderness.
