Sunday Writing Prompt #218: September 3, 2017
Who do you know? Night Sounds.

Hello everyone and welcome to the Sunday Writing Prompt 🙂 Today, the content of the prompt is from a guest hostess – Rugby843 – The Bag Lady, so please be sure to stop by her space and show her some MLMM love and appreciation.

So I ask, in this collaborative effort: Who do you know when night falls?

And Rugby843 poses these questions: Night sounds. What do you hear and how does it influence you? Does it make you content or does it disturb you?

And for your viewing and contemplative pleasure: a selection/collage I’ve created from images she has sent.

test

So as night falls, who do you know in the thickness – and what happens when you stop and are listening – to your own breath, feeling – your own heart beat, and are aware – of your surroundings – inside/outside – literally or figuratively.

Let yourself create as you wish -flash, poetry, personal story or commentary, fiction etc.

Feel free to use the collage and consider some of the words in it – some of the combinations (funny how word clouds and tags can rearrange meaning – personally, I am struck by the words ‘drowned drunks’) – as your points of inspiration, then lead us on a trip into the darkness, which can be equally light and peaceful. You may use your own images to tell your story in your creations too – so stop, pause – consider the many fascinating ideas and possibilities, and let us know:

Who do you know when night falls?

Night sounds. What do you hear and how does it influence you? Does it make you content or does it disturb you?

You have a week to create and play – and please remember to leave your links in Mr. Linky’s capable hands – he will cradle them safely – and create your links and pingbacks in the comments. Include the tags MLMM or Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie and Sunday Writing Prompt for reference.

We’re looking forward to your responses!

And on a final note: Thank you Rugby843 for your idea – has me curiously fascinated – and I hope I’ve taken your idea and fashioned it into something to your liking.

I love the sounds of night
    when the crickets
    sing lullabies to the weary.

it can be soothing – although, sometimes, a cricket gets in to the house (I live in the country) and sleep is hard to arrive, and there is nothing quite as irritating as listening to one’s breath, and the sound of the dogs snoring, the cat snuffling, and the house creaking, – for all of that – it is so still – and silent – and then that damn elusive cricket, wherever it is – starting chirping – and it echoes so loudly! Argh! LOL – joke’s always on me, though, can never find it when I rouse myself and then flash on the lights, searching …. to capture and release. Weary is an apt word.
