Today I have one of my favorite songs by Taylor Swift “Red” from my favorite album of hers also called Red. In my opinion, her follow up album, 1989, wasn’t as nearly as good as Red or her previous albums. Sadly, she got rid of her guitar, more in depth and relatable lyrics, and her country roots.
I’m crossing my fingers that her new album, released soon, is better than 1989 and shows her talent as a singer in many genres such as country or country pop; as well as, having pop music pieces. Swift’s newest single from her upcoming album is called “Look What You Made Me Do.” The new album is called Reputation and is Swift’s first album in three years.

Taylor Alison Swift was born December 13, 1989 and is an American singer-songwriter. She’s one of the leading contemporary recording artists and known for her narrative songs about her personal life, which has received widespread media coverage.
“Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Swift moved to Nashville, Tennessee at the age 14 to pursue a career in country music. She signed with the label Big Machine Records and became the youngest artist ever signed by the Sony/ATV Music.”
As well, Swift’s “third single, ‘Our Song,'” from her first album, “made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Hot Country Songs chart. Her secon album, Fearless, released in 2008″ also won “four Grammy Awards” and Swift became the “youngest Album of the Year winner.”
In “addition, Swift was the sole writer of her 2010 album, Speak Now. It debuted at number one in the U.S. and the single “Mean” won two Grammy Awards. Her fourth album, Red (2012), yielded many successful singles including” “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” “Treacherous,” “Comeback, Be Here,” and “This is the Last Time.”
Finally, Swift’s “fifth album” was the “pop-focused” album 1989 (2014) and included songs such as “Shake It Off”, “Blank Space”, and “Bad Blood” reached number one in the U.S., Australia, and Canada. The album received three Grammy Awards, and Swift became the first woman, and fifth act overall, to win Album of the Year twice. Here’s hoping album number six is as good as many of Swift’s more traditional songs and lyrics or that she atleast finds away to keep her country roots!

“Red” by Taylor Swift
*****
[Verse 1:]
Loving him is like driving a new Maserati down a dead-end street
Faster than the wind, passionate as sin, ending so suddenly
Loving him is like trying to change your mind once you’re already flying through the free fall
Like the colors in autumn, so bright just before they lose it all
*****
[Chorus:]
Losing him was blue like I’d never known
Missing him was dark grey all alone
Forgetting him was like trying to know somebody you never met
But loving him was red
Loving him was red
*****
[Verse 2:]
Touching him was like realizing all you ever wanted was right there in front of you
Memorizing him was as easy as knowing all the words to your old favorite song
Fighting with him was like trying to solve a crossword and realizing there’s no right answer
Regretting him was like wishing you never found out that love could be that strong
*****
[Chorus:]
Losing him was blue like I’d never known
Missing him was dark grey all alone
Forgetting him was like trying to know somebody you never met
But loving him was red
Oh, red
Burning red
*****
[Bridge:]
Remembering him comes in flashbacks and echoes
Tell myself it’s time now, gotta let go
But moving on from him is impossible
When I still see it all in my head
In burning red
Burning, it was red
*****
[Chorus:]
Oh, losing him was blue like I’d never known
Missing him was dark grey all alone
Forgetting him was like trying to know somebody you never met
‘Cause loving him was red
Yeah, yeah, red
We’re burning red
*****
[Post-Chorus:]
And that’s why he’s spinnin’ ’round in my head
Comes back to me, burning red
Yeah, yeah
*****
His love was like driving a new Maserati down a dead-end street
