Welcome back to Saturday’s Mix. This week we are going to take a furtive peek at the world around us–perhaps spying just a bit. When I was visiting Sonnenberg Gardens in New York a couple of years ago, it was a beautiful day, and there were several wedding parties on the grounds. I couldn’t resist snapping a photo of the photographer snapping an image of the tender moment when the bride was overcome with emotion. The groom was offering her a tissue.
Sometimes we are silent witnesses just because we happen to walk upon a scene. Other times, we might try to spy on that someone we wished we could have in our lives.

Whatever our purpose, today’s task is to look at that idea of watching something we have not been invited to be a part of. Another example of overseeing something (I’m pretty sure that isn’t a real word) is Jean Shepard’s song “Shadows on the Wall.”
You can tell the tale of your spying–accidental or intentional–in a short 250 word or less story, or you can write it as a poem. It might work nicely to use rhyming couplets, a shadorma, or free verse.
Once you’ve written your piece please tag your work Mindlovesmisery’s Menagerie and Saturday Mix then either ping back or put a link to your work in the comments below. To make things simpler you can add your link to the Mr. Linky app below so everyone will be able to quickly find your work.
