Your writing moves smoothly, effortlessly so. As a former teacher for nearly thirty years, I know what you’re writing about and you tell it well.

Clever take: the bullied boy grows bigger than the bully in both appearance and sentiment.

    MOVING ON

On a warm June 13th day, I swore
to unload the sackcloth of ashes
    your departure hoisted upon me
and slash the burden of guilt to the wind.
Yes, I was wrong. I betrayed your love,
but how long must I remain disgraced,
never to find elusive peace or love again?

Shards of memory slice away still now.
The color of your eyes, your short blond hair––
a drowning man engulfed by what cannot save him.
Years before, from my chair at Hobart’s
Café’, I watched you go. The flower
of laughter wilted to the weed.

Personally I have always had luck on the 13th – especially Fridays.

      Enchanting, yet sad…

June 12th is my birthday. The day after has always been, if not unlucky, then at least depressing.

There are some who do not count birthdays at all…and then age vs actual health age is another ball of wax all together.

May all your days be healthy and full of good luck and life.

Parting is always a sad event. Often, if we can see the future, we find the right one and life and love become good.
