Welcome to the Saturday Mix – Lorraine’s version. Using an abecedary approach to this week’s blend of flash fiction, poetry and shadorma. Lots of A, B, and Cs to had. Feel free to try any or all of the challenges.
The flash fiction this week is another columnar event. Choose a word from columns A, B, and C then write a piece of flash (25 to 150 words) using your three choices. If you’re really adventurous, pick 2 from each column. Other forms of the words are acceptable.
Column A Column B Column C
banker activate box
accountant bounce address book
call girl cuddle butter
collector curse chair
antiques dealer bury apple
butcher annul anchor
body builder curl curtains
car washer bludgeon bath tub
assistant approach cheese

Learn your abcs: choose a poetic form from the glossary of forms, poetic terminology and literary devices (on the side bar) that begins with a, b, or c. Create a poem using that form.
Or create a poem using the rhyme scheme abc
The familiar shadorma uses the non-rhyming syllable count/beat 3/5/3/3/7/5. It can comprise one or multiple six line stanzas. Choose as your shadorma theme, topic, “story” an a, b, or c “word/phrase.”

Very stark and dark — a shadorma with bite. Well done.
