Saturday flash splash 07.01.17

While Saturday’s get sorted out at Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie, I’m filling in with flash fictions splash – offering up a few different flash fiction prompts to select from.

This week:

Prompt One: In 142 characters or less, write a piece of flash about this picture. These are character counters 1 and 2 that you will find helpful. (click on for larger image)

Prompt Two:

In 25 words or less, write a story (beginning, middle, and end) about what’s happening in this photograph.

Prompt Three:

Based on this photograph, write a piece of flash 75 to 200 words long that must include 5 of the following words: abandon; murder; axe; mystery; disappear; lonely; haunted; suicide; desperate; depression; young love; child birth; still born; infant mortality; grief; remorse; spirit; love; hate; abundance.

Please include the photograph in your post, link back here (ping-back), tags: Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie, flash splash, flash fiction. And, of course, Mr. Linky awaits your click.

I’m open to suggestions about flash fiction – feel free to use the comments to propose other types of flash, offer images/photographs, etc.

Have fun – in a flash!

  1. For Prompt Three: You can use a form of the word, eg: abandon; abandoned; abandoning; desperate; desperation; disappear; disappearing; disappearance.
Just so you know — I’ll make that clearer next time I use a word list and picture prompt.

  2. I actually wrote something for this earlier today and will post soo. mega hesitant and shy though, I never do flash because I suck at it, but I deeply admire people who weave it!
