Writing Prompt October 30th: Judgement of Self

Greetings, everyone!

Autumn is now full throttle, and me personally, I cannot believe October is already over!

This week, we are continuing with the Tarot Major Arcana. Our next card is card number 20, The Judgement.

Judgement Tarot card

Judgement Tarot card

The Judgement card calls for a period of reflection and self-evaluation. Through meditation or quiet reflection, you may come to a point of deep understanding about the common themes throughout your life and what you can do or change to avoid these situations in the future. Judgement tells you that you are close to reaching a significant stage in your own journey.

With its theme of awakening to new life, the Judgement card suggests that you have reviewed and evaluated your past experiences and have learned from them. All the pieces of the puzzle of your life are finally coming together to form one, integrated picture of your life story. This integration has healed any deep wounds and you are now in a position to put the past behind you

Judgement is about finding absolution. Through a period of self-evaluation, you will feel cleansed of your ‘sins’, wrongdoings and mistakes, and you will finally be released of your guilt and sorrow about the past. This represents a wonderful purging process and will leave you feeling refreshed and ready to take on any new challenges.

For this challenge, I would like to give a direction you fine folk can follow, with crafting your prompt. I underlined some sentences in the above paragraphs, which are inspiring to me personally.

For the challenge, I would like you to present me a story, divided in 3 parts, that conjoins a thing of the past, a thing of the present, a thing of the future. I cannot tell you to make them all connected, because I believe one thing that leads you to a meadow can easily lead me to a valley. It is up to you to show this connection or how the events have developed from one to another.

All forms of writing are welcome, I would just like to suggest to sticking to the 3 sections, if you find it inspiring. This means you could offer 3 different pieces of flash fiction, 3 different poems and so on – all in the same post.

When your post is ready and up, please link up/pingback and tag your post with MindLoveMisery’s Menagerie, Major Arcana, tarot, Judgement, and anything else you see fit, of course.

Have a wonderful week, and I am looking forward to reading your entries!

It should work now. I had to trash it because it didn’t publish properly and the opera was starting. All should be fixed now. I’m not 100% certain I got the 3 parts but well… this one was hard.
