Greetings from Paloma!
For this week we will look at the shadorma once again (a non-rhyming form in 3/5/3/3/7/5 syllables) and the Twenty Eight, created by J. Lapis of Dark Light Harbor.
The Twenty Eight
Form
Four lines with seven syllables each;
end-rhyme the first and fourth line (optional).
Alternate Form
Seven lines with four syllables each
Here is the Twenty Eight J. Lapis wrote for Dark Light Harbor. Visit her post to see the original image that inspired the poem:
Copper’d flames fast-burnt, fallen;
Leaf carpet, ember’d pathway
‘Neath November’s pewter rain…
Swift fiery season ashen.

Today’s inspiration comes from Muscleheaded Blog, where Maxfield Parrish was shared this week.
When you have written your poem(s), please TAG them B&P’s Shadorma & Beyond and MindLoveMisery’s Menagerie. Then add your link to the Mister Linky widget below.
Have Fun!

Thank you so much for featuring me/the “28”, alongside the Shadorma–which I love. And I really like the dragon image!

Thanks for inventing and sharing it 🙂
Glad you liked the dragon… that is my favorite too. Don’t believe I’ve seen it before.

Is it also a Parrish work? I didn’t want to assume, just because the others were 🙂

Yes, it’s Parrish too … it has similarities … and yet it is so different too. 🙂

Relatively new here and wasn’t sure if I should use the picture? I’ve never written a Shadorma until today. Thank you so much for a great challenge!
