Greetings from Paloma!
For this week I’d like us to simplify and look at paired shadormas. As you remember, the shadorma is a non-rhyming six-line poem with a syllable count of 3/5/3/3/7/5.
In looking at shadormas, I found the following shadorma written by our own Bastet, from her earlier prompt featuring Vincent Van Gogh:
oniric
the courtesan peeks
at the blooms
in the spring
slowly like gentle snow flakes
cherry blossoms fall
(c) G.s.k. ’14
For this exercise, please write two (or more) shadormas based on the Van Gogh paintings, the music, or your own inspiration. Bastet’s painting choices (above, below) inspired the following shadorma pair:
she had wished
for so many things
to appear
that midnight –
like the whisper of rushes
tangled in her robes
no whispers –
only worn-out boots,
cobblestones,
and dull eyes –
yellow sunflowers, dying
under starry skies
Paloma, 2014
When you have written your poem(s), please TAG them B&P’s Shadorma & Beyond and MindLoveMisery’s Menagerie. Then add your link to the Mister Linky widget below.
Have Fun!

Wow Paloma … your double shadorma is so very moving! Thanks for sitting in for me once again. A marvellous choice – it’s nice to go back and do straight shadorma for a change!
Yes, I thought it would be a nice change ….
Very glad you liked it … Very glad to help.
Next week is yours 😉
Hugs!
You bet! And thanks again. Huge hugs!

Very welcome 🙂
