Hello everyone, this is Paloma filling in today for HA.
Before we move to today’s haiku prompt, I would like to make some announcements on behalf of MindLoveMisery’s Menagerie.
◊
First, it is with sadness that I announce that HA (Anmol) will no longer be hosting Heeding Haiku with HA. While he’s enjoyed being your host, he is unable to devote as much time to the prompt as he would like to. Hopefully soon he will return to blogging and we will all see him again. Thank you, Anmol, for hosting here at MindLoveMisery’s Menagerie.
◊
Starting next week, we are very fortunate in that Chèvrefeuille will be hosting the Wednesday haiku prompt. As you know, Chevrefeuille also hosts the daily haiku meme at Carpe Diem Haiku Kai and he has been hosting the Fairy Tales Prompt here. He brings a wealth of experience and a passion for haiku.
Thank you, Chèvrefeuille!
◊
The new schedule is as follows:
◊
Wednesday – Haiku/Tanka (hosted by Chèvrefeuille )
Thursday– Short Stories (hosted by Michael and Phylor)
Friday– Music Prompt (hosted by Yves, temporarily)
◊
Yves will host the Friday posts for the time being – but we are looking for someone to take over as the permanent Friday host. For this prompt you will share a weekly music video that is interesting both aurally and visually, and then visit and comment on the inspired pieces of writing. Please contact us in the comments section if you would like to be the permanent host.
◊
◊
Because of the announcements I will keep today’s prompt simple. Israel Kamakawiwo’Ole’s version of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” is one of my favorite pieces of music – and with so many beautiful images in the video I hope you will be inspired to write an all new haiku or tanka. [You may also use the artwork if you so desire.]
◊
storm break –
first light brushes the treetops
golden –
with a fond farewell
until we meet again
– Paloma

When you have written your poem(s), please TAG Heeding Haiku with Ha and Mindovemisery’s Menagerie. Then add your link to the Mister Linky widget below.
Have a great week!
