With every Chinese take out meal comes a fortune cookie. Removed from its cellophane wrapper, there is a faint smell of almonds. The cookie’s skin has a Formica-like texture. Your grasp each side of the cookie between your thumbs ’til there is the dry crackle snap. Inside is the “fortune;” a thin strip of paper. ……. So, what happens next? Is there a fortune in this cookie? Is it magic or diabolical? Does it lead you on a great adventure? Scare the h**l out of you? Change your life?
Weave a tale around that cookie and it’s “fortune.”
And, if you have favourite fortune cookie sayings, leave them in comments, or post on your blog and link back here.

This amuses me–I’ve been known to buy a whole box of fortune cookies so I can keep eating till I get a good fortune!

That’s an interesting approach to fortune cookies! Do you have a favourite fortune cookie message?

Is your question for me, Phylor? If so, I can’t even remember a cookie message–so I guess I don’t have a fave! You might like my post, though–link above.

I’ll have to keep it on the back burner of possible series. 🙂
The fortune came out of a real cookie 🙂
