Bastet’s Shadorma (and Acrostic) Prompt – September 20, 2014

Hello World …

This post is dedicated to writing a Shadorma.  What is a Shadorma?  Shadorma is a Spanish 6-line poem of 3/5/3/3/7/5 syllable lines respectively.  Simple as that.

I thought we’d look at the Acrostic form today too.  An Acrostic is a poem where the first word of each line forms read down together forms a word …

Ghost Armor

Old armor
readied for combat
stood in the castle’s courtyard
awaiting its master

And there it stood
Rigid as an old oak tree
Melancholic mystery
Of manhood from another age
Ready to give battle!

You can use the photo to inspire you to write a poem or choose one of your own.  Not interested in either the Shadorma or poetry but you like the photo and feel inspired?  No problem … go for it!
