The Underground Railroad
Theodor Kaufmann

This week theme is “The Underground Railroad”

“The Underground Railroad was a network of secret routes and safe houses used by 19th-century slaves of African descent in the United States to escape to free states and Canada with the aid of abolitionists and allies who were sympathetic to their cause.[1] The term is also applied to the abolitionists, both black and white, free and enslaved, who aided the fugitives.[2]”-Wikipedia

  1. I’m rarely first at anything these days, so being the first to say hi to mr. linky means something. Great prompt. The story came gushing out with a quick trip to Wiki to see if I was right about something. One of my fastest beginning to end productions. Guess I should think flash not fancy!

  2. I was just reading a short piece about Harriet Tubman … apparently she could pass for a man and did so frequently, which I’m sure was really helpful. I read that if anyone started to freak out and want to run back, she didn’t hesitate to verbally whip them into shape! A force to be reckoned with … I’d love to meet her 🙂

  4. Fascinating subject for a prompt — lots to consider with this one. Had me thinking, re-thinking and wandering all about. 🙂
