Shadorma Photo Prompt # 12 – A treasure

Hello everyone … sorry I’m late!  I had just completed last week’s round-up of shadorma when all of a sudden my browser crashed with a big “tumph” wiping out half an hours work of linking … so what I’m going to do is link  to Shadorma Photo Prompt #11  Illusions so that you can go a read all the wonderful shadorma and elfje (as wall as a great tilus) that were submitted last week.  Sorry once again, both to my readers and writers for the delay.

This weeks photos come from one of our readers (and writer) from France, Imabookworm, with many thanks.

 Treasure troves
From my memory
Childhood past
Children’s gifts
“To mommy for this or that!”
Held close to my heart

I take each piece and smile
the memory
fresh

The photos reminded me of a treasure trove … I’ve got a jewel box filled with the little mementos that my son’s have given me over the past 40 some years … from plastic rings to hand-made bracelets.  What do the photos say to you … tell me about it in shadorma!

You might also want to try to use the tilus or elfje (two other micropoem forms) as a “separator” between more than one verse of shadorma or perhaps as a conclusive end verse…you can visit back issues to see how the tilus and elfje work.

A shadorma is composed of six non-rhyming lines (sestina or sextet) and the syllable pattern is 3-5-3-3-7-5.  It can have as many stanzas as you like, just as long as each stanza follows the syllable pattern mentioned above .  You have a week to create you poems so be patient and let the photo inspire you!  Or use your own photograph or art work!

Once you’ve written your post tag:  Shadorma and Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie, then put your info onto the Mr. Linky app!  If you ping me back, I’ll be able to read your post asap because I will be notified that you’ve written the post (not so with Mr. Linky)…That’s all there is to it!

Have a great week!  Bastet!

About Georgia

I love to read...I like to write...I've travelled the world and seen the sites. I'm past my prime and feel so young, especially when near the young. I'm writing this blog, to remember, to think and to share...with the hopes that someone else will make a comment that will stimulate new thoughts and pathways. Actually, I'm a gabber, so the logical extension of gabbing is blogging! ;-)

Mwahaha! I’m the fist! But then I got a notification because you ping-backed (?) me so it’s kind of cheating. I had no idea what I would write though

lol…no problem, it isn’t cheating to be the first to like the prompt…but now you’re in a pickle … what will you two come up with? A dragon shadorma maybe about treasures? Can’t wait to see!

You pinged me once and I was the first to add my link to mr linky. È più chiaro? (You’d think I’d have better things to do than use google translate to write in Italian to someone who speaks English…)

Ah! How great! You see, I don’t see the Mr. Linky unless I go there on purpose, so I didn’t realize you’d written the shadorma already…I only get a notice if you ping me in your post. Adesso è tutto chiaro! Grazie tante! o Merci beaucoup!

        Merci et a vous!

That feels weird seeing as I usually figure “you” is “toi” when singular and I’m just not used to being “vous” (unless you were talking about me and DragonSpark) so it suddenly felt too formal. Although if I wrote to you in French I would probably say “vous” and see how you react so I suppose it’s kind of normal…
If you ever want to write French to me again (god only would know why but you never know) feel free to say “toi” 🙂

Merci! I’d probably use the informal in both Italian and French, my mother tongue is English and it’s a bother to use the formal vous or lei. I was referring to both you and DragonSpark of course! 😉

Humbug! I’ve already replied here but wifi was being annoying so I’ll answer again.
I usually consider “you” as “toi” especially when it applies to me so it feel very weird being called “vous” (unless you meant me AND DragonSpark). But then again if I were speaking French to you I’d probably call you “vous” and see how you’d react…
So if you ever want to speak French to me again (god only would know why but you never know) feel free to say “toi”.

Ah…the loveliness of hickcupping connections what would we do without it…except of course not have to echo ourselves!

I’m sorry I just realised that could be badly taken I wanted to see how to say it in Italian to see if it resembled English French or Spanish and I was surprised to see that it didn’t really but I could have said it in English too…

No problem … I didn’t take it badly. The French would have said “tout effacer” ? Hmm…not at all similar!
